Vince Builds
Welcome to our WildStar Addon Spotlight! This week we've got the spotlight on Vince Builds an addon created by chuckySTAR that lets you change your LAS, gear and costumes from one customizable button!
WildStar has finally implemented the ability to change gear through the GameLib Apollo library and today we've got the spotlight on one of the first addons that lets you change your gear for you! Vince Builds is a new addon that does just that, change out your gear for you, but it doesn't just stop there. It also changes your Limited Action Sets(LAS) which lets you set custom builds for your gear, LAS, and costumes. In just a couple of clicks you can change out all three at once and it's pretty easy to setup too.
After you install Vince Builds and load up WildStar, you'll notice a new icon on your screen, that's the Vince Builds button and if it's too big, small or not transparent enough, you can change all that in the settings menu. To get to the settings and configuration menus, just right click the button and the configuration menu should pop right up. Here is where you'll set your LAS, gear sets and costumes.
It's all pretty straight forward but you must name each LAS and gear set and save them. Clicking the button labeled Equipment switches the configuration menu to the LAS configuration menu and vice versa. When in the LAS menu, you can link what costume set you want linked with your equipped gear and while in the Equipment menu you can link what LAS you want for that gear set. It may sound a little confusing at first but once you start linking your gear and LAS together it starts to make more sense. Just remember to name each equipment set and LAS and then save them so you can link them together.
The main button is also customizable. To customize the buttons size and transparency, click the little gear icon on the top left and a new window will open with the options to change the height, width and alpha of the button.
Installation
- Install using the free Curse Client, which you can download here, or follow the manual instructions below:
- Download the Addon from here.
- Locate your Addons folder. (C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\NCSOFT\WildStar\Addons)
- Place the VinceBuilds folder found in the .zip file into your Addons folder.
Final Words
Vince Builds is a powerful addon for managing your LAS, gear and costumes. If you use a lot of different LAS and/or gear sets, you absolutely need to check out Vince Builds. Of course, none of this would be possible if it wasn't for Carbine implementing new Lua funtions to make this all work, so a huge thank you to Carbine for implementing those!
