Welcome to our weekly WildStar Addon Spotlight! This week we've got the spotlight on UnitedDialogs, an addon created by Jos_eu that enhances the layout of quest dialog windows!
This week we have the spotlight on UnitedDialogs, a quest text replacement addon that enhances the quest dialog windows, anchoring them down in predictable windows instead of them floating around as pseudo chat bubbles that may or may not get obstructed by other UI elements.
As you can see in the image above, UnitedDialogs places the main quest dialog in a window to the right, above the player response window. This of course is highly customizable and it's only the default setting, you can always set it to how the default quest dialog floats above the NPC like a chat bubble. You can also get the quest rewards to show up vertically with the text displayed if you so wish, but by default UD only shows the icons in a horizontal row.
Speaking of options, UnitedDialogs is one highly customizable addon. You can manage the players bubble, the NPC/Item's bubble and communicator calls all separately, changing their layout, positioning and what actually shows up in their respected windows. Plus you can change how keybindings work with each window, going back and forwards through quest text and picking quest reward options when given the chance. By default, you can press "F" to accept and turn in quests and if your quest has multiple options, keys "1-0" are used for the corresponding answer.
One area that's often overlooked is the communicator, but UnitedDialogs takes care of that, making the quests you turn in and pick up through your communicator work like normal quests. This is really a huge improvement and when your communicator starts ringing, all you have to do is press "F" to answer it instead of trying to click your way through all those dialogs.
Installation
- Install using the free Curse Client, which you can download here, or follow the manual instructions below:
- Download the Addon from here.
- Locate your Addons folder. (C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\NCSOFT\WildStar\Addons)
- Place the UnitedDialogs folder found in the .zip file into your Addons folder.
Final Words
Much like ClassicQuestDialog(which isn't currently being updated anymore) UnitedDialogs brings a more classic quest text layout to WildStar. If you are sick of the default floating quest text either getting obstructed by other windows or UI elements or just want a more cohesive and simple questing experience, check out UnitedDialogs today!
