WildStar Addon Spotlight
When you get a new piece of gear, sometimes it looks like a great upgrade but you fail to notice that while some stats increase there's one stat that is a little less. That stat may or may not loose a stat milestone, loosing even more stats than just comparing the equipped and new item show with the default Carbine UI.
That's where ETooltip comes to the rescue! According to the addon's description, "ETooltip adds a summary to the tooltip an item with relevant information on secondary stat increases including: milestones reached and bonuses from them, converts ratings into secondary stat estimates, as well as consolidates information from multiple bonuses (ex + critical severity from 2 primary stats will be shown added together instead of separately)."
To open up the configuration menu, type /ett or /ETooltip, or click on your addons list, select etooltip and hit the configure button. The configuration window consists of all the stats you can show and checkboxes to either show or hide each stat. There's two other options though, you can force the addon to also display the unconverted rating for when the addon converts a stat rating to a base stat as well as having EToolTip not include runes when comparing items.
There really isn't much to configure, but that's just fine by me. The stats that are displayed when you get a new piece of gear drop is leaps and bounds better than the default Carbine comparison. Dullone has also included basic hooking support for non-Carbine tooltip addons, which should make it easier for others to create tooltip addons that are compatible with EToolTip.
- Install using the free Curse Client, which you can download here, or follow the manual instructions below:
- Download the Addon from here.
- Locate your Addons folder. (C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\NCSOFT\WildStar\Addons)
- Place the ETooltip folder found in the .zip file into your Addons folder.
Admittedly, ETooltip will need an overhaul soon for PvP stats as they are being completely reworked by Carbine at the moment. But as it stands right now, ETooltip is easily the best tooltip addon for WildStar and there's no reason you shouldn't be running it! Knowing if you'll gain or loose milestones on each piece of gear is really handy and I wouldn't be surprised if Carbine borrowed that specific feature and implemented it themselves eventually, it just makes sense to have that info there and I'm sure you'll like it too.
